Ferrari Challenge – Inifineon

I made the trip up to wine country this weekend to see the first Ferrari Challenge race of the year at Infineon. Sonoma couldn’t have been a better backdrop for such an amazing event. These cars are such a feast for the senses. Here’s a few quick edits from the event, I’m still waiting on some film to come back from the lab so there should be more to come!

It wasn’t all F1 cars…

Twenny Twelve VK Team Camp

I shot my first images of the Vanderkitten Squad at Tulsa Tough back in 2010, little did I know of the relationships that would bud from those simple black and white portraits taken on that blisteringly hot day in June. Over the next (almost) three years I developed an awesome friendship with the girls and others associated with the team. Those relationships  have a good amount to do with why I moved and are what have kept me alive and kicking through my relocation to the West Coast. (That means you, Starla and Gino, Maria and Dan, Vanessa, Jen and the rest of the crew. Thank you!)

So when the opportunity to shoot Team Camp came around, I didn’t hesitate for a second. It’s a rarity that I get the opportunity to have all the girls in the same spot at the same time without the weight of a competitive event on their shoulders. It made for great imagery and an all around fun weekend.

The girls sick new rides from Focus Bikes.

And check out the team issue lid from Kask Helmets.

Love the custom details they hit these with.

A few shots cruising up and down the coast.

A few portraits I shot during the launch party.

SF Chronicle Wine Competition

Those of you who follow me on Facebook or Twitter probably know that I have a real soft spot for food and wine so today was quite a treat. My good friends from EcoVino invited me to attend the SF Chronicle Wine Competition at the beautiful Fort Mason Center, and am I ever glad I accepted.

There had to be a mile of tables set up, serving the best wine the US has to offer.

Chris and Natalie – Founders of EcoVino

Chris serving up some of their awesome Cabernet.

I’m pretty sure this guy thought EcoVino is the coolest thing around… He might be right.

A few new EcoVino fans.

The folks from Katarina Wines with their EcoVino.

The girls next door serving up awesome Petit Syrah and Pinot Noir from Ellipsis Wines.

More Pinot? Don’t mind if I do!

I love Zin. Zin Zin Zin. This particular bottle is from Tyler Florence. Delish.

He happened to be there pouring it himself. Yes, I got to meet him and he’s a super nice guy.

Got to meet the lovely ladies from Truffle Gateau and learn about some of their Oklahoma roots. I must have met a half-dozen people from Oklahoma or with Oklahoma ties this weekend. The Okies are taking over!

Winning.

PSA: Always Always ALWAYS be nice to wine people (they’re always nice back).

Huge thanks to Chris and Natalie from EcoVino for the vino and for inviting me today. I had a blast. Also, big thanks to the peeps over at Ellipsis Wines, Echelon Vineyards and Flasq Wines for the goodies. They will not be wasted!
